Sustainable Solutions Take Center Stage at Global Chemical Fair

Sustainability has become the core focus of the 2024 Global Chemical Fair, which opened on Monday in Singapore. As the world faces growing pressure to reduce carbon emissions, exhibitors are highlighting eco-friendly technologies that balance industrial needs with environmental protection.
A Dutch company stole the spotlight with its carbon-capture system designed specifically for chemical plants. The technology can capture 90% of carbon dioxide emissions during production and convert it into usable raw materials for other industries. “This not only cuts carbon footprints but also creates a circular economy model,” explained the company’s CEO, Emma van der Sar. Meanwhile, a Brazilian exhibitor showcased a zero-waste detergent production line that uses 100% renewable energy and recycles all water used in the process.
The fair also hosts a “Green Chemical Forum,” where government officials, scientists, and business leaders are discussing policies to promote sustainable practices. A survey conducted at the event found that 85% of attendees plan to increase investment in green chemical technologies within the next two years. With 300+ eco-friendly products on display, the fair is shaping the future of sustainable chemistry.
